The History of Amber
It was the perfumers of Medina and Dubai who developed the amber trade. Rare and precious, Amber diffuses an emblematic perfume.
True Ambergris is harvested from the surface of the Indian Ocean and the China Sea... Under the action of salt and the sun, it takes on an orange tint and its characterful scent becomes more refined. Of very high quality, its substance is used in the world of great perfumery.
These Amber squares are a plant-based reconstitution of Ambergris, a blend of scents with notes of vanilla, musk, benzoin and labdanum gum.
Cistus leaves produce a kind of fragrant resin called Labdanum gum. Its resin with its woody, balsamic and amber scent was used since Antiquity to make “incense”.
Benzoin is a resin that comes from various plants such as Styrax, Liquidambar Oriental. Its main component is benzoic acid for Indochina benzoin, and cinnamic acid for Sumatra benzoin. Benzoins of both origins also contain a percentage of vanillin, which is where the light vanilla notes come from. Benzoin from Siam offers a very oriental fragrant note, it is used in the composition of Armenian paper and it is used as incense in the Maghreb countries.
